Sophia Petrov is National Manager, Policy and Engagement at COTA Australia, the national peak body representing older Australians. Her career spans television news production, education, aged and community services, senior roles in local government, board appointments, and leadership across the community sector.
Sophia has managed large multidisciplinary teams and significant operational budgets in complex service environments, as well as leading in smaller organisations with constrained resources. She is recognised as a collaborative and inclusive leader, with a strong commitment to improving systems and outcomes for older people.
At COTA Australia, Sophia works alongside older people to ensure their lived experience informs policy development, advocacy, and practical reform — including in areas central to dignity, equity, and quality of care.
