Professor Mary Chiarella AM is an internationally recognised nurse leader with qualifications in Nursing, Midwifery, and Law. She has served as Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for NSW Health and as Foundation Professor of Nursing in Corrections Health at UTS.
In 2008, she was invited by the WHO to develop a compendium of nurse-led primary health care models across 38 countries. Mary is Deputy Chair of the Northern Sydney Local Health District, chairs its Health Care Quality Committee, and serves on several national health ethics bodies.Her research focuses on legal, policy, and ethical issues in nursing, and she continues to contribute internationally through her work with the International Council of Nurses.
